Tips to Choosing your spectacles

by Logan McArthur

When you go to buy your glasses over the web, you need a system to help you quickly and sensibly selct the most suitable pair for you :-

The frame colour:-

If you have a fair complexion, then go for pastel or light shades. Alternatively you could go for clear or metal frames. Whatever you do, avoid horn-rims or those strong coloured frames that wont suit you.

Choose the frame shape that will suit your face's shape

Wide frames tend to suit those of you lucky enough to have an oval face shape. Choose a set of frames which stick out of the side of your face.

Round face: A round shaped face has curvilinear lines with the width and length of the face in the same proportions. To make the face appear thinner and longer, try angular narrow spectacle frames to lengthen the face, a clear bridge that widens the eyes and frames that are wider than they are deep, such as a rectangular shape.

If your face appears to be relatively long, then you may want to make it appear wider by choosing frames that have a depth to them from top to bottom. You could also use temples that are a bit fancy to help add width to your face. Another strategy is to look for frames with a low bridge, which may help to make your nose look smaller.

Square face shape: A square face shape has a strong jaw line and a broad forehead, plus the breadth and length are in the same proportions. To make the square face appear longer and soften the angles, seek narrow frame styles, frames that have more breadth than depth and narrow ovals.

Pale coloured frames or even rimless frames best suit those of you with triangular or heart shaped faces. You may also want to look at frames that are wider at the bottom.

Hopefully, these tips have helped you to select the correct set of eyeglasses that will suit your perfectly
