The Story Of Gucci Sunglasses
Many people, including a lot of celebrities, love Gucci sunglasses. That's understandable since the name Gucci is synonymous with cutting-edge fashion and trendy styles. When you buy a pair of Gucci sunglasses, you buy something that not only looks good but has a lot of quality. Indeed, Gucci sunglasses have everything except the ordinary, making them a staple in the every-changing fashion world.
But do you know how the Gucci brand started? Who was Gucci and why are his products popular? It all stated in 1906 when Guccio Gucci, 25, opened a small shop in Florence and named it the House of Gucci. Because he was skilled in crafting leather goods, Gucci used everything he knew to make his products unique.
In the 1920s, he sold leather bags to horsemen and then luxury luggage items when his customers turned away from their horses and traveled in cars. By 1938, Gucci began his first retail shop in Romes Via Condotti but it was only in 1947 that the first leather bag with the familiar Gucci logo appeared. The red striped webbing, another trademark, was first seen in the 1950s.
Later other items surfaced including ties, shoes, luggage and the popular handbags with bamboo handles. Although Gucci died in 1953, his family took over his legacy by putting up shops in Beverly Hills, London, Tokyo, Paris and Palm Beach. Despite the success of the brand, the company faltered due to family problems and wrong management decisions. Guccis brother Maurizio took over and sold the company to Arab buyers in the early 1980s.
In 1990, the brand reappeared when Tom Ford was named the executive head of Gucci. Under Fords guidance, Gucci rebounded in the fashion scene with products such as leather goods, colognes, perfumes, cosmetics, shoes, suitcases, watches, and the familiar sunglasses.
